(Tested account: real DynIP account) UNBLOCKVPN is a service which purposes 6 PPTP/OPENVPN servers in CZ, UK, SK and recently in the USA.
The core server gives you a full dynamic IP (no need to forward anything / all ports are available for you) which changes on every hang-up.
Skype, MSN works and others well known protocols too ;)
Download is between 200 and 300 KB/s at 6pm GMT and can be 700 KB/s at 5am GMT
The upload is about:
- 120 KB/s in PPTP mode instead of 125 KB/s in my DSL line with my own French IP.
- 105 KB/s in OpenVPN mode.
Default DNS given by DHCP are Google DNS. The patch to grab these DNS in PPTP mode are available below on this document.
FYI i have noticed in OpenVPN than some TLS keys are exchanged every hour (log speaks about "TLS expiry key") but they are no disconnections...

- Traffic for VPN can be capped by your ISP thanks to DPI routers,
- If you are often disconnected from your VPN, it can be too your own ISP,
- Some VPN IP addresses are filtered by catch-up TVs,
- Some VPN IP addresses are filtered by some free FTP services to avoid malwares,
- Some VPN blocks port 25,
- Some Youtube contents available in your country can not be available from VPN coz you have an foreign IP,
- Some (catch-up) TV programs available in your country can not be available from VPN coz you have an foreign IP,
- Some Websites refuse well-known VPN IP connexions,
- in OpenVPN mode, your firewall software is unused,
- VPN traffic can be blocked on a few public WIFI systems.

Q: When my real IP can be known by the remote server ?
A: - With any kind of tunnel as VPN it is impossible.
- With a Webproxy, by default only your browser and his internal component areprotected (Javascript, Flash). Java, AIR, Winamp/Windows_mediaplayer_Real orApples sound/videos are NOT protected !!! If these apps purpose a proxysettings you are not hidden by the webproxy. Some webproxies or applicationsdetect at installation the browser config so you are protected.PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO THIS FAQ TO VPN COZ YOU ARE SURE ALL YOUR TRAFFICIS HIDDEN !!!
Q: Some website or well know protocols works well but others not, why ?
A: Generally, only classical websites works well as search engines andtroubles exists when you must access [in SSL mode?!] to authenticatedsites or protocols. In 2010, the (non-guaranteed) quick test to do isGOOGLE works well but not GMAIL (in default mode coz GMAIL use now SSLby default).The trouble can be easily repaired by changing MTU

will be changed by this configuration, changing MTU
Q: My VPN does not authorize P2P softwares, can i use SKYPE ?
A: Good question ! VPN owners generally explain by the "no P2P" sentence than you are not allowed to use file sharing softwares... IMHO i repeat again IMHO you can use SKYPE for me but you can not use well known classical P2P softwares as Emule or UTorrent even if you share legal contents.
Q: Can i cascade VPN to improve privacy ?
A: Yep ! Some VPN providers offers you this service which is generally named "DoubleVPN".
Never forget than more you cascade VPNs, more you use differents ISP/links, more your speed can be low and more your ping/lag can be high ;)
